About Me

Hi, I’m Georgia.
I’m the person behind Georgia O VA, providing practical, reliable support to business owners who need an extra pair of hands they can trust to get on with things.
I’ve spent my career in administration and operations, often being the person behind the scenes keeping things organised, spotting what needs doing and making sure the details don’t get missed. Now I bring that experience to business owners who need capable support without necessarily needing another employee.

My background
My career has taken me through some very different environments, but organisation, coordination and making things run smoothly have always been at the heart of what I do.
I spent nine years working in Abu Dhabi, including at New York University Abu Dhabi, where my roles included Executive Assistant to the Head of HR, Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship and Operations Manager within entrepreneurship.
After returning to the UK, I moved into NHS primary care, working as an Operations Manager and later stepping into an Interim Practice Manager role.
Along the way, I’ve managed busy diaries and inboxes, coordinated travel, supported senior leaders, worked with data and spreadsheets, helped manage systems and processes, dealt with confidential information and kept track of the countless moving parts that sit behind a busy organisation.

How I can help
The business owners I work best with don’t need someone waiting to be given a new instruction every five minutes. They need someone who can understand how their business works, take ownership of the detail and get on with the job.
That might mean keeping an inbox and diary under control, coordinating travel or bookings, maintaining spreadsheets and reports, following up outstanding information, researching something that needs sorting or looking at an existing process and thinking, there must be an easier way to do this.
I’m comfortable picking up new systems, asking questions when I need to and suggesting a better way of doing something when I spot one.
Most importantly, if I say I’ll do something, I’ll do it — and if something falls outside my experience, I’ll be honest about that too.

How I work
I like working with people who see their VA as part of their business rather than simply someone to hand a list of tasks to.
I take the time to understand what you need, how you like to work and what matters to your business. From there, I can work independently while keeping communication clear and making sure you know what’s happening.
I value long-term working relationships built on trust, honesty and mutual respect. I don’t believe you should have to constantly chase, check or micromanage the person you’ve brought in to make your working life easier.
The aim is simple: you should feel like there’s one less thing for you to think about.

A little about me
I’m based in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, where I live with my two boys.
Becoming self-employed was about building a career that works around family life without giving up the work I’m good at and genuinely enjoy. I love the flexibility of running my own business, but I also really enjoy becoming part of my clients’ businesses — getting to know how they work, finding ways to make things easier and being the person they know they can rely on behind the scenes.
Outside of work, life is generally a mixture of school runs, days out with the boys, travel plans, cups of tea and trying to keep on top of family life — so I know only too well how valuable it is when something can simply be taken off your plate.

Could I make things easier?
If you’re spending too much time on the details behind your business, or you know you need support but aren’t quite sure what that support should look like, tell me what’s taking up your time.
We can have a chat about what you need and whether I’m the right person to help.

Thank you for visiting my website.
Best regards,
Georgia
